The Neighborhood Resource Office for the City of Greeley is hosting a series of workshops for Homeowners Associations, their board members and prospective board members. Our next class is Thursday, May 12th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Farr Library, 1939 61st Avenue in Greeley.

Guest speakers are Melissa Garcia and Jeff Smith of Altitude Community Law P.C.  This workshop is entitled, “Successful Enforcement of Covenants, Rules and Architectural Standards/Guidelines”. According to Melissa Garcia, “Enforcement of covenants, rules and architectural guidelines is one of the most important duties boards and architectural committee members have.  In this class, we will cover the covenant enforcement process, legal requirements for board members, and common pitfalls when it comes to covenant enforcement.  We will also review the receipt, review and response process that architectural committee members should understand and enforce when navigating the architectural review process.”  The workshop will cover the duties and obligations found in governing documents and statutes and how board members can comply with these rules. This session is a great educational tool for new board members and an excellent refresher for experienced board members.
