In the world of homeowner associations, “transparency” is the word of the day. Effective January 1, 2013, the provisions of HB 1237 concerning association records went into effect. HB 1237 amends the Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act. In addition to specifically defining what constitutes an association record, HB 1237 also requires that members of the association’s board of directors disclose their email addresses which they use to conduct association business.
