Tips for Contacting State Legislators

The most effective of all legislative contacts come when you can speak person to person with your own legislators in their home district.  Legislators are anxious to meet constituents and discuss needs and concerns.  Local events, such as meetings of Chambers of Commerce, Kiwanis, Rotary, country fair, to name a few, give you a chance to introduce yourself and become personally acquainted.  If a bill comes up during the legislative session on which you want to have input, it is very helpful if you have established a prior relationship with your senator and representative.
